(Studio) Report on ceremony and demonstrations heralding arrival of Shah of Iran for Washington, DC visit.

(DC) Report on White House welcome for Shah by President and Mrs. Carter, and on demonstrations by both pro-and anti-Shah groups. Fighting among 2 groups and police detailed, include use of tear gas and its effect on White House ceremonies; demonstrations compared to those during Vietnam war years President's later apology to Shah noted. [CARTER - has apologized to Shah for temporary air pollution in DC.] Ldrs.' discussions with regard to oil prices and proposed visit to Israel by Egypt President Sadat cited.

[Pro-Shah MAN - gives details of flight preparations, shows money recd. for coming and says he doesn't come to support Shah, but just enjoys traveling.] Truth of man's allegations has been learned; airline refusal to tell who paid for flight and Iranian embassy denial of its government paying any to come to Washington, DC cited.
