Abstract:

  • After the afternoon session ends CBS anchor George Herman, after a brief comment, breaks for commercial.

  • Commercials are aired, for which only the beginning of the first and the end of the last are in the collection.

  • George Herman joined with co-anchor Nelson Benton comments on the day’s testimony of James McCord. They also comment on Attorney General designate Elliot Richardson’s appointment of Archibald Cox as special prosecutor on the Watergate case and that James Caufield is expected to appear.

  • Commercials are aired, for which only the beginning of the first and the end of the last are in the collection.

  • George Herman introduces Daniel Schorr who is outside the hearing room interviews Senator Lowell Wicker.

  • George Herman reads a comment from Frank Mankowitz concerning information the McGovern campaign allegedly received from the Justice Department then discusses it with co-anchor Nelson Benton.

  • Daniel Schorr interviews Senator Howard Baker about the McCord testimony.

  • Commercials break with only the beginning of the first commercial and the end of the last are in the collection.

  • Nelson Benton introduces videotape of McCord answering questions concerning the bugging of other sites then discusses it with George Herman.
