| Abstract: | Senate Judiciary Committee investigates the cover-up of the break in at the Watergate Building.On John Dean’s second day before the committee, Chief Counsel Samuel Dash questions John Dean about the activities and practices that the White House engaged in. John Dean discusses the relationship between H.R. Haldeman and the President. Dean goes on to talk about his own involvement in the cover-up and what President Richard Nixon knew.Minority Counsel Fred Thompson continues questioning John Dean about his dealings with the Justice Department Including delivering documents to FBI Director Patrick Gray.John Dean talks about where White House Press Secretary Ron Zigler got his information. Minority Counsel Fred Thompson asks John Dean about his involvement after the break in. Dean quips that if he were still in the White House he would feed Thompson questions to ask.The questioning continues with Thompson asking Dean about his motivations for participating in the cover-up and for coming forward.Thompson asks Dean, why didn’t you come forward sooner. |
