Title: The Closing Door: An Investigation of U.S. Immigration Policy

Abstract:Special Program that examines what the Senate passed on May 18th. They passed their version of the proposed Simpson-Mazzoli Bill designed to overhaul an unjust immigration law. This bill contains penalties for employers that hire illegals and amnesty for those already living here. This program will concentrate on the Haitians and El Salvadorean immigrants especially. Immigrants came to America for two reasons: To escape their homeland for various reasons: political oppression, etc. and there was a demand for cheap labor.
