Title: Vietnam-8: Vietnamizing the War 1968-1973

Abstract:Special program that takes a look into the Vietnamese world and their troops; Americans did not understand the Vietnamese at all. This program also looks at prostitution and the drug market in Vietnam. In 1969, more than 9,000 Americans were killed in Vietnam. Nixon aimed to reduce casualties by vietnamizing the war: letting the South Vietnamese do the fighting. Troop withdrawals increased in 1970. Also, examines Vietnamese prisoners and methods of torture to find out information by American troops. 1972- in one week, no American battle deaths - Vietnamizing the war had worked; 5,000 Vietnamese troops suffered horrible deaths that same week.
