Title: Inside TV: Around the World with your Local Anchor

Abstract:Special program that examines the local anchor situation: many local news stations around the U.S. were sending their anchors and reporters all over the world to catch foreign news stories- the stories that only network correspondents would fear to tread. These local reporters do not have the experience or the knowledge needed to capture these stories and this sparked a conference in America at the University of Chicago about the local network foreign news debate.
  • Examines a story about the American Vietnamese children in Saigon. It was reported by a local reporter, Bill Kurtis. This was an award winning piece.
