Abstract:President Bush's Thanksgiving address. The President discussed his cooperation with congress, American volunteer-ism, pursuit of freedom around the world, and the upcoming summit in Malta, the US commitment to freedom. President Bush reaches out to President Gorbachev, asking him "to work with him to tear down the barriers to freedom, and once-and-for-all, end the Cold War. " Bush said, "America believes that Liberty is an idea whose time has come in Eastern Europe." President Bush discussed the communist nations remaining in South America.
