Title: Bush Speech, Post -Event Analysis

Abstract:Post- analysis of President Bush's speech announcing that US troops were to be sent to Saudi Arabia in defensive positions against Iraqi troops. Includes the description of the four basic principles which guide President Bush's actions: immediate, unconditional withdrawal of Iraqi forces from all Kuwaiti territory, restoration of legitimate government in Kuwait, security and stability of the Persian Gulf, and the protection of US Citizens abroad. Also included is a discussion of predictions for Iraqi President Hussein's announcement later in the day and the possibility of an Arab Summit. The Extent to wich the defensive force would be multinational was also discussed.
