Live CNN precoverage and analysis of United Nations Security Council debate and vote on Resolution 678 re: use of force against Iraq, including statements and/or speeches by President George Bush, Saddam Hussein, Secretary of State James Baker, Kuwaiti Foreign Minister Sabah Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, Iraqi Ambassador to the UN Abdul Ami Al-Anbari, Yemen Ambassador Abdalla Saleh Al-Ashtal, and Former Assistant Defense Secretary Richard Perle. The report also includes a discussion on the AIDS epidemic and the World Health Organization's activities with a statement by Dr. Michael Merson, the hunger crisis in the Soviet Union with a statement from Penny Marshall, the Israeli involvement with the UN with a report by Peter Arnett, the resignation of Prime Minister Andrey Lukanov in Bulgaria, the hostage crisis in Lebanon involving six American citizens, and other stories.
