(Studio) Astronauts Neil Armstrong, Edwin Aldrin, and Michael Collins return to earth with 60 pounds moon. Ship floated to 9 mile of USS Hornet. Crew put on green isolation suits before leaving their ship. President Nixon aboard Hornet.
REPORTER: Chet Huntley
(Pacific Ocean) Copter brings men to ship. Crew waves to ship's crew and enters mobile quarantine facility. [NIXON - tells astronauts he's luckiest man in world at being able to welcome them back. Tells of talking to their wives and inviting them to dinner on August 13.] [ARMSTRONG - says we'll do anything you say, Mr. President] [COLLINS - feels just great. Jokes about being younger than Frank Borman.] [BORMAN - says Collins used 4 "fantastics" and 2 "beautifuls" in describing moon.] [NIXON - says greatest week since creation. Hope we can reach for stars like you do.] [CHAPLAIN - offers prayer.]

(Studio) Nixon left for trip around world. Hornet sails for Honolulu and then on to Houston for 18 days quarantine.
