(Boston: Elaine Quijano) The FBI investigation into the Boston Marathon bombing updated; details given about the questioning of bomber Tamerlan Tsarnaev’s widow, Katherine Russell, the search of areas around the University of Massachusetts at Dartmouth, where Dzhokhar Tsarnaev attended college, in an effort to find sites where bombs may have tested, and the transfer of Tamerlan’s body to a funeral home in Worcester.
(Studio: Scott Pelley, John Miller) The investigation of Russell, the phone call between her & Tamerlan after the bombing, the investigation in the Tsarnaev brothers’ native Dagestan, and Tamerlan’s links to Canadian boxer William Plotnikov & Mahmud Nidal, who was fighting against the Russian regime, discussed.
(Studio: Scott Pelley) The decision by the Department of Homeland Security to make sure international students have valid student visas after it was known that Azamat Tazhayakov, who was accused of hiding evidence in the bombings, was allowed to return to the US even though his student visa was terminated reported.
