(Port Elizabeth, South Africa, R: Jim Hickey) Release of black activist, Govan Mbeki, imprisoned in South Africa reported; details given, scenes shown. [MBEKI - expresses mixed feeling about his release.] His sentencing, along with Nelson Mandela and others, in 1964 recalled; historical films shown. [MBEKI - says still supports ideas for which he went to jail.] [Winnie MANDELA, Archbishop Desmond TUTU -praise Mbeki.] Possibility that Mbeki's release could pave way for release of Mandela reported [South Africa expert prof. Tom LODGE - says this may be a dry run.] South African government's attempt to demystify men hailed as martyrs by blacks noted.
