(Mexico City, Mexico) United States Olympic vet, Hal Connolly, fails to qualify for throw finals. Al Hall also failed but Edward Burke will be in final competition. Pole vault world champion, Bob Seagren, will try to win gold medal. Holds record at 17' 9". Shown qualifying. 200 meter finals featuring Tommie Smith, John Carlos and Larry Quistad to be aired later at 7 p.m. EST.
