(Warsaw, Poland: Jim Hickey) Controversy over Roman Catholic Cardinal Jozef Glemp's remarks in which he accused Jews of being anti-Polish featured; scenes shown of protests by Jews at Carmelite nuns' convent located at site of Auschwitz death camp. [World Jewish Congress executive director Elan STEINBERG - calls Glemp's remarks hate-filled.] Solidarity reported accusing Glemp of insensitivity. [MAN - comments.] Solidarity leader Lech Walesa noted stating that places where Jews suffered should be respected as sacred. Longstanding differences between Catholics and Jews over how Holocaust should be remembered reiterated.
