(Studio: Peter Jennings) Arrival of President Mikhail Gorbachev's emissary Yevgeny Primakov in Egypt for diplomatic talks about Persian Gulf reported. Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak reported convincing Saudi Arabia to cancel Egypt's debt. Eight American holdouts in embassy in Kuwait reported striking water in their backyard. President Bush reported sending letter to Israeli Prime Minister Yitzhak Shamir asking for cooperation with United Nations inquiry into deaths of 21 Palestinians in Jerusalem earlier this month; scenes shown of United Nations where new vote was taken urging Israel to let United Nations proceed.
