(Moscow: Rick Inderfurth) Split of Communist party into two factions examined; scenes shown from party meeting in Latvia and from rally in Lithuania at which Lithuanian President Vytautas Landsbergis called on President Mikhail Gorbachev to begin talks about independence. [USA- Canada Institution Victor KREMENYUK - comments.] Gorbachev's position that Baltic republics must recognize they can't break their ties with USSR overnight noted.
