[BUSH - says Iraq lied about pulling troops back, that Arab states need to condemn actions of Iraqi President Saddam Hussein, that Iraqi-backed government should not be accepted and that United Nations should impose sanctions against Iraq.] Secretary of Defense Dick Cheney said to be flying to Saudi Arabia to urge economic pressure against Iraq.

(London: Barrie Dunsmore) American efforts to push for economic sanctions against Iraq examined; United States ambassador to United Nations Thomas Pickering mentioned. [British Prime Minister Margaret THATCHER - says United Nations must apply economic embargo.] Japan noted agreeing to boycott Iraqi oil; statistics of boycott of oil exports outlined on screen. Need to shut down Iraqi pipelines through Saudi Arabia and Turkey explained.
