(Tel Aviv: Dean Reynolds) Release reported by Israel of bodies of Lebanese guerrillas killed in 1987 and 51 Lebanese detainees after confirmation that two Israeli soldiers abducted five years ago were dead. [Israeli hostage negotiator Uri LUBRANI, Yohanan BEIN - hope this will enhance release of Western hostages.]

(Studio: Peter Jennings) Statement from Sheik Mohammed Hussein Fadlallah, the most powerful Islamic leader in Lebanon, that this release may facilitate release of Western hostages.

(Tehran: Charles Glass) United Nations Secretary General Javier Perez de Cuellar's visit to Iran to continue negotiations for the release of hostages from Lebanon and elsewhere featured; scenes shown from Tehran. [PEREZ de CUELLAR - (with transcript on screen) says he wants freeing of all detainees and prisoners.] Question raised of whether Iran will respond to Israel's gesture today.
