(Washington: Tim O'Brien) Issue of whether President Bush's administration should be allowed to engage in activities overseas that endanger animals protected by United States law featured; scenes shown of the golden cheeked warbler, protected birds that are killed by American pesticides when they migrate to Guatemala and of Asian elephants, whose habitat in Sri Lanka is threatened by a US-built dam. [Defenders of Wildlife president Rodger SCHLICKEISEN - comments.] The administration said asking the Supreme Court to agree that the Endangered Species Act only applies in the US, not to cases of foreign policy.
