(Guantanamo Bay, Cuba) 1934 treaty gave United States perpetual lease on Guantanamo Base; United States defense of base includes mine fields, bunkers and 6 jets. Attack on Base considered unlikely; American dependents live on base. Cuba cut off water supply in 1964; desalinization plant built; 350 Cubans, living in Communist Cuba, work on base; despite fact 90% of Cuban workers' pay taken by Cuban Govt., still make more than could in Cuba.
