(Studio) Pentagon announces Pine Bluff, Arkansas arsenal being turned over to FDA for peaceful uses; Fort Detrick, MD, chemical warfare center also expected to be converted.

(Fort Detrick, MD) Since Nixon renunciation of 1969 Offensive Biological Weapons Programs, efforts made to turn Fort Detrick over to Department of Health, Education and Welfare for medical, cancer research. [Committee of Concerned Scientists Spokesperson Dr. Peter GERONE - says no conversion of facilities necessary; if authorized to begin cancer research, could do so tomorrow.] Equipment suited to cancer research shown.
