(Studio) President Nixon designates drought areas of Texas threatened disaster area; qualifies ranchers for reduced feed prices and low interest loans.

(San Antonio, Texas) Ranchers burning thorns from cactus so cattle can eat moist core. [Rancher Sid WILLIAMS - says has heard longest drought since 1880; cattle dying, not breeding; intends to keep feeding cattle, hoping for rain.] [Rancher Erskine DENSON - says situation disaster.] Cattle sales up 100%.
