(Studio: Peter Jennings) Parris Glendening reported defeating Ellen Sauerbrey in the Maryland governor's race by a small margin while the vote count for Senator Dianne Feinstein and California challenger Michael Huffington is updated.

(Capitol Hill: Jackie Judd) The squeaky close Connecticut House race between Sam Gejdenson and Edward Munster examined. [Connecticut secretary of state Pauline KEZER - says the final count gives Gejdenson a plurality of four.] [MUNSTER - calls for further examination.] The tight 1984 Indiana race won by Frank McCloskey in the House recalled. [Representative Bill THOMAS - comments.]
