(Studio: Peter Jennings) PLO (Palestine Liberation Organization) leader Yasir Arafat reported promising Secretary of State Warren Christopher that he will make sure Jews living on the West Bank and the Gaza Strip will be safe.

(In the Israeli-occupied West Bank: Dean Reynolds) The Israeli government's consideration of readjusting the peace plan with the Palestinians because of the issue of the security of Israeli settlements in the region featured; scenes shown. [Israeli cabinet ministers Shimon SHITREET, Yossi SARID - comment.] Suggestion from Israeli Prime Minister Yitzhak Rabin that some settlements may have to be uprooted noted. [Jaffee Center for Strategic Studies Joseph ALPHER - comments on the fate of the settlements.]
