[Outside court, defense co-counsel Robert SHAPIRO, LAPD Detective Phil VANATTER - respond to reporters' questions.] [In court, deputy district attorney Christopher DARDEN - begins the prosecution's opening statement laying out the background to the murder of Nicole Brown Simpson and Ronald Goldman; describes O.J.'s stalking of Nicole.] [Deputy district attorney Marcia CLARK - outlines the evidence against O.J. in detail.]

(Studio: Peter Jennings) Judge Lance Ito said considering removing cameras from the courtroom.

(Los Angeles: Cynthia McFadden) The judge's position on the media and cameras in the courtroom examined in light of the inadvertent broadcast of pictures of two alternate jurors and the stance of the defense team on televising its opening statement noted.

(Studio: Peter Jennings) Interviews held with three legal experts on the cameras-in-the-courtroom problem. [University of California at Los Angeles law school professor Peter ARENELLA - speculates that fairness will dictate that the defense's opening statement be televised even if Ito decides to shut down the cameras.] [Former L.A. district attorney Robert PHILIBOSIAN - expresses shock over the careless showing of the jurors.] [Defense attorney Leslie ABRAMSON - comments.]
