(Washington: Michele Norris) Report from Texas state attorney general Dan Morales about the pressures on him not file the lawsuit against the tobacco industry to recover the cost of smoking-related illness examined; details given of the industry's telephone survey tactics that planted misleading information about Morales. [MORALES - says the industry is up against the wall.] Special issue of "Mother Jones" magazine said detailing threats against other state attorneys general moving against the industry.
