(Chicago: Antonio Mora) The story of Chicago public school teacher Carla "Mama Hawk" Hawkins, who has dedicated herself to reclaiming the lives of children, featured; scenes shown from her inner city neighborhood and from the Bethune public school, where her program called "Recovering a Gifted Child" is carried out. [HAWKINS - says she lives in a war zone; talks about what she does for her kids.] [Students Donnie HENRY, Tashiona YOUNG - talk about what "Mama Hawk."] [Bethune School Principal Warren FRANCZYK - praises Hawkins.] Her dream of opening her own boarding school for the kids no one else wants noted.
