(Studio: Peter Jennings) A Senate committee said issuing subpoenas for documents related to fund raising by both parties.
(Washington: Linda Douglass) Evidence linking the Chinese embassy to funneling contributions to the Democratic Party and that a central figure in the probe may have passed classified information to the Chinese examined. [President CLINTON - says this could be a serious matter.] Denial of the charges by the Chinese government quoted and the Republicans' renewed call for an independent counsel noted.
