(Washington: Jackie Judd) Request by a group of doctors and public health advocates that they be injected with a strain of the AIDS virus to work towards an AIDS vaccine examined. [VOLUNTEER, International Association of Physicians in AIDS Care Gordon NARY - comment on the need for a vaccine.] Dr. Jonas Salk recalled injecting himself with his polio vaccine in 1952. [Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center Dr. Jerome GROOPMAN - says vaccine can be assessed without human volunteers.]
