(Studio) Soviet World War II Lend-Lease debt to US; US-Soviet trade agreement, settled.
REPORTER: Howard K. Smith
(White House) 3 year US-Soviet trade agreement finalized. Secretary of State Rogers, Commerce Secretary Peterson, Soviet Trade Min. Nikolai Petrolichev present. [ROGERS - notes significance of agreement.] Level of trade to triple in 3 years Only Congress can approve most favored nation trading credits for USSR , however. Congress may oppose deal due to Soviet tax on Jewish emigrants.
