(Studio) Peter Brennan, former New York Building Trades Union leader, lifelong Democrat and former painter, becomes Labor Secretary

(NYC) Brennan first came to President's attention by leading 1970 demonstration of construction workers and longshoremen in support of Nixon's Vietnam policy. This year Brennan's New York State Building and Construction Trade's Council supported Nixon in campaign. [BRENNAN - says appointed not political payoff. Belongs to no party. Hopes to end discrimination against blacks and women.]
