(Studio) Nixon administration enacts sweeping emergency measures to curtail plane hijackings.

(Kennedy Airport, NYC) Local police will guard airports. Handbags will be searched in concourses; metal detectors will be more plentiful. Cockpit doors and bulkheads will be bullet-proofederal Airports not meeting Federal Aviation Administration specifications for protection will lose federal aid. Small ticket tax will pay for program's cost. Airlines and pilots expected to protest measures as ineffective; want federal security force.
