(Studio) Israel and Jordan fire across Jordan River. Jordan For. Min. has orders from King Hussein to seek indirect negotiations with Israel through UN. Hussein in Cairo to confer with President Gamal Abdel Nasser.

(Tel Aviv, Israel) Israel been on verge of war with Arabs since founded. [ISRAELI - says we'll win another war. Don't want empire; just small country to live in. ] Israel says Arabs couldn't win war now. War seems inevitable.
