(Studio) United States resumes full-scale bombing of North Vietnam, include Hanoi area. Hanoi reports downing several planes and capturing pilots. This comes after Kissinger's announcement that peace is not at hand.

(White House) 1st official word of renewed bombing of Hanoi comes from Defense Secretary Laird as he was showing his successor, Elliot Richardson, through the Pentagon. Bombing north of 20th parallel halted in October, but is now renewed. Admin. hopes to pressure Hanoi into accepting US's terms for cease-fire in peace negotiations.
