(Studio) United States and other non-Communist countries applaud Nixon's trip to China. Strongest words of disapproval came from USSR . North Vietnam ignores visit but steps up action in South Vietnam. Nationalist Chinese government in Taiwan most offended by visit.

(Taipei, Taiwan) Govt. and news media in Taiwan give as little play as possible. Nationalist government fears possible United States concessions to Mainland China regarding Taiwan. Nationalist President Chiang Kai shek alluded to Nixon visit in same speech in which he suggested he may not run for another term in office. Expected to be drafted for new term, however.
