(Studio) Major increase in Communist activity reported in South Vietnam. Expected enemy offensive may have begun. 25 rockets hit Da Nang Air Base. United States increases air and sea power in area.

(Pentagon) Strategic Air Cmd. contingency reinforcements (mainly B-52 bombers) and aircraft carriers, Constellation and Kitty Hawk, move toward SE Asia. United States will not hesitate to use power to protect Americans remaining in South Vietnam.
