(Studio) Ambs. of United States and Mainland China meet in Paris, France, as was negotiated during President Nixon's trip to China.

(Paris, France) Under president of Charles De Gaulle, France was 1st western government to establish diplomatic relations with Chinese Communist government of Chairperson Mao Tse-tung. China embassy has been in Paris since 1964. Chinese Ambassador Huang Chen meets with United States Ambassador Arthur Watson there today. [WATSON - says he was received warmly by Chinese ambassador]
