(Studio) Busing issue is collision of 2 honest fears: that of white parents for quality and distance of schools for their children; and that of leaders like Father Hesburgh, head of govts. Civil Rights Cmsn., that stopping busing will reverse our long, hard, progress towards integrated nation Nixon's plan to spend more on poverty schools is fine, but more needed to be said. Commentator would have preferred more throaty, LBJ-like reaffirmation of commitment to become integrated nation 70% Americans want that.
