(Studio) Discovery of oil on AK's m. slope presents problem of transport. Interior Department says pipeline through Canada through Edmonton would be ecologically safer than across Alaska to port of Valdez.

(AK) Pipe already on site for construction of Alaska line will have to be moved, and increased for longer Canadian route. Bridges built in Alaska to aid migration of animals, studies made by oil companies showed effects of AK line, minimal to ecology. Line would have ended at Valdez, AK, and revived town destroyed in 1964 tidal wave.
