[CLIFFORD - expresses hopes for talks between United States and USSR .] Optimism with regard to Vietnam noted. [CLIFFORD - responds to reporter's. question with regard to United States casualties since United States bombing of North Vietnam halted. Does not relate casualties to bomb halt.] [CLIFFORD - hopes Paris Peace Talks to move ahead. Anticipates return of troops from South Vietnam.]
