(Newark, New Jersey) Vice President campaigns here. Crowd greets him. 1st speech to Newark Citizens For Humphrey. [HUMPHREY - says issue between those who preach pols. of fear and despair and those who preach of hope and progress. Says he has unlimited faith in capacity of American Talks of goodness of American people.] Humphrey joined opera singer, Robert Merrill and New Jersey Governor Richard Hughes in chorus of "Whiffenpoof Song".
