(Memphis, Tennessee) Memorial service held for its' founder, Dr. Martin Luther King. Widow, Coretta, and children present. Singer Aretha Franklin sings King's favorite hymn, "Precious Lord". [Southern Christian Leadership Conference Convention representative C. O. SIMKINS - nominates Reverend Ralph Abernathy as President] No opposition. [ABERNATHY - leads "Soul Power" cheer and chant about being black.]
