(Studio) Presidential candidate, Vice President Hubert H. Humphrey, invites Nixon and Wallace to join him in cross-country debate.

(Seal Beach, California) Humphrey introduced to group of elderly by Jimmy Durante. [DURANTE - intros. Vice President] [HUMPHREY - says if President, would increase social security benefits by 50%. To pay for it out of growing economy, with graduated increases according to prices.] Some of benefits would come from general revenues. 17 million Americans 65 years old and older. 2 million in California.
