(Studio) Senate committee receives report on seriousness of hunger in American; situation worse than in poorer cntrys.

(Capitol Hill) Report says 15-20% of American poor suffer from malnutrition. [Senator George McGOVERN - pre-school children can suffer irreparable mental and physical damage.] [Public Health Service, Dr. Arnold SCHAEFER - 13% of poor anemic; 15-20% in healthless status.] [Senator Edward KENNEDY - asks if situation was thought to be that bad.] [SCHAEFER - much worse than anticipated.] Govt. food donations not getting to poor; new recommendations to be made.
