(Studio) House Judiciary Committee hears from California Representative Augustine Hawkins, representative 13 member Black Caucus. Hawkins calls busing cop-out. Nixon to meet busing committee

(White House) 6 black Nixon appointees to high Federal positions attend Nixon mtg. to give black input to ultimate decision. Florida primary straw vote on busing will also influence Nixon busing policy. 2-yr. President study commission headed by Neil McElroy recommends preservation of status quo with no additional busing. [MCELROY - advocates that quality education and equal education opportunities be available in all schools, then incentive for busing would be reduced.]
