(Studio) Senator Eugene McCarthy vacates For. Relations Committee seat to hawk.
REPORTER: Walter Cronkite
(DC) 2nd time in week McCarthy has baffled colleagues. First by voting for Russell Long for party whip instead of Edward Kennedy; and second by giving seat to Senator Gale McGee, known hawk. McCarthy says smaller committee easier to manage and he'll be able to concentrate on Finance Committee assignment.
