(Studio) Surprise development occurs at Chicago Seven trial.
REPORTER: Harry Reasoner
(Chicago, Illinois) Trial stopped when discovered Jerry Rubin left Court Defense Attorney William Kunstler says Rubin had appointed and left waiver of rights. Judge Julius Hoffman stops trial to search for Rubin. Judge orders his bond revoked, and issues bench warrant. Undercover agent, Irwin Bock, testified of Rennie Davis talking about using violent tactics to divert police. Bock's testimony inconsistent. Believed Rubin gone to give speech.
