(NYC) Some priests question their role in church. Doug. Mooney felt priesthood made him play God. [MOONEY - says no longer goes to Mass. Felt church was like factory.] James Verity now safety director for bus company Still goes to church. [VERITY - attends daily mass. God still hears me. Many feel they should hide.] John Cavanaugh left priesthood, not church. [CAVANAUGH - says church will have relevance, not just a Sunday or social thing.] Former nun, Jeanne De Loca hopes church will change. [De LOCA - says people fear structure and theology of church will crumble. Fundamentals will endure. Barnacles will be scraped away.]
