(Studio) General Motors Corporation stops production of Chevrolet Corvair.

(Willow Run, Michigan) Rear engine Corvair declared dead. 1,710,000 built since 1959. General Motors Corporation says lack of consumer interest killed it. Ralph Nader criticism may have influenced sales. General Motors Corporation to hold onto last Corvair in case it becomes classic.
