(Studio) Defense Secretary Melvin Laird talks on Vietnam pullouts and its effect on draft calls. New quotas to be reported Friday

(DC) 3rd Marine Div. to pull out and draft calls to be lower. [LAIRD - says Vietnamization program designed to give South Vietnam greater capabilities. Must convince North Vietnam that South Vietnam is stronger.] He argued for bigger cut to convince Thieu regime of United States intentions and not enough to take heat out of college protests.
